About us

The Foundation was created at the end of 2004. Its Foundators are: Antek Adamowicz, Dora Montagna and Krzyś Jarymowicz. What brought us together was the issue of the quality of social life and in particular, anxiety triggered by the repeated manifestations of violations of the Polish Constitution, involving discrimination against ethnic, national, religious or sexual minorities.

We believe that the reluctance to another human being is the primary obstacle to building of the fare state and the society of citizens that look forward to the position of Poland in the world. In the increasingly complex and ambiguous word which requires reflection on the direction of change as never before.

The Foundation is a place for discussion. We try to break stereotypes, put into question the commonly held perception, increase sensitivity to human suffering. We also promote knowledge of individual and collective rights, in particular the right for freedom of expression, access to information and education. Our aim is also to present the diversity of cultures and beliefs.

The Foundation is the author of the „T-shirt for Freedom” social campaign which in 2005 has revolutionized the debate on the taboo in Poland. Keynotes like „I am Negro”, “I’m gay” or “I do not listen to the Pope” were commonly discussed in media and still provide a reference point in the discussion of prejudices.

The Foundation also actively took part in two profrequency campaigns “Change the Country. Vote” and “Free Belarus “.

Since 2007 we have been organizing voluntery services and youth exchanges within the „Youth in Action” Program of the European Union. Dozens of our volunteers have worked in almost all European countries, as well as Armenia, Georgia, Lebanon, Mexico and Turkey.

We also try to fight against racism and sexism in sports (annual football tournaments for women and refugees) and antisemitism (debates and exhibitions “Antisemitic Graffiti”).

The Foundation collaborates with local (schools, museums, cultural institutes, sports clubs, centers for foreigners, other organizations and informal groups, private companies and the media), a nationwide (including the association of “Never Again”) and European institutions (Amnesty International, Football Against Racism in Europe). Since 2009 we are members of the network created by Anna Lindh Foundation.

We invite to cooperation all the organizations and individuals who perform or wish to pursue similar actions.
